Annikki Tähti, who sang about looking back to Monrepos, was a leading figure for female singers’ appearance in 1950s. She was especially known for singing ballads, and her career lasted over 50 years, soaring again in the beginning of 2000s with the release of the movie Mies vailla menneisyyttä.
